Carving Pumpkins!!

Well for the first year in our married lives we decided to carve pumpkins....and I now see why we don't ever do it! It's messy, it stinks, its hard when you don't have very sharp knives or one of those cool carving kits. We have friends that are like die hard professional pumpkin carvers (The Ulriches that are AMAZING) https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmrDsekYhn-9LO83oXvkR4soM6o1AV8yj1DpAXnLb4X4pTgbyOjLwW-XMI8RMFvPzySBNIODXR8wXk-KIzZ-TPIeOA1mJWiaSfH2RBqOnTnlAUJYYLh67w2GIrG7taxLeN4vSK1J2Ijxk/s1600-h/Halloween+2009.jpg that make it look so easy, so we thought well they carve 120 pumpkins every year what's the big deal about carving 2? Well it was a big deal...and I think next year we will just paint on them:)It started out ok, kinda messy and it was harder than I remember trying to get all that slimey crap out...Kooper thought it was kinda cool.Weston was trying to be all hardcore and do something cool....so its suppose to be a cat and this is how it turned outIt was just a big hole, ha ha the whole thing just fell out!So then he just decided to do 2 big eyes and whatever else that is. I opted to do a normal, easy jack-o-lantern....not so easy for me. As you can see one eye is bigger than the other and one of his teeth fell out. Man...we struggle!!:)We also made pumpkin cookies for desert, I think that was Kooper's favorite part!
To top the night off our cute little neighbors brought Kooper over a little Halloween bag, he was so excited.

Pumpkin Patch

Over the weekend we decided to go to a Pumpkin Patch to let Koop pick out some pumpkins. The pumpkin patch was so cute, they had a huge corn maze, hot chocolate, a pit full of corn the kids can play in, hay rides and tons of pumpkins.

I have no idea where Weston was, I was just going to take Kooper's picture but then this old guy insisted that he take one of both of us...
This is the one!
WAY too heavy!

Kooper wasn't to sure about the corn maze, he wanted to get our as quickly as possible. And totally off the subject of pumpkins... For some reason the last week or so Kooper will not stay in his bed at night, this is how we find him every night! What the heck?? Arent there supposed to be monsters under the bed?

Miniature Golf

So this last Saturday was kinda monumental (not sure if that's the right word) but anyway it was the first Saturday in over 2 years that Weston, Kooper and I were able to just hang out as a family with absolutely nothing to do. No papers due, no study groups, no boards to study for, no unpacking....nothing! It was great! So we got up and got our house cleaned, the cars cleaned, and then after Koopers nap we decided to go miniature golfing. We had a blast, I wasn't sure how good Kooper would do because his attention span is about 3 seconds, but I guess if its something cool enough he will pay attention (I think he gets that from me.) In case anybodys counting I had TWO, yes TWO hole in ones and Kooper amazingly had one hole in one(watch out Tiger) and the golfer of the family had a big fat ZERO hole in ones! Its kinda a sore subject so I wont go into details:) Anway great day, I love that our Saturdays will be like this from now on!
Daddy helped him at first...
But then he got it.... he wanted no help, "I do it, I'm a big boy"

We were trying to explain to him that he got a hole in one..he looks a little confused??
Good form, good form
No Kooper you don't follow the ball....
Of course Daddy had to see if he still "had it" in the batting cages....yes he was pretty good!
But Koop and I were a little board:)

The little things that make me smile!

In the last few months Kooper has changed so much, he says the cutest things that just make me smile! I know that if I dont write a few down I will forget and wish I had.

-The other day I was having one of "those" days, and yes I was crying:) and Kooper took my cheeks in his hands, pulled me close and gave me a kiss and a hug then patted me on the back and said,"it ok mommy, be happy."

-Weston gave Kooper a taste of his lemonade and Kooper made a really funny face, so Weston asked him if he didnt like it and Kooper replied..., "no it tastes like poo!" How he knows what poo taste like I will never know:)

-Whenever we tell Kooper to do something he doesn't agree with he will always say in a really snotty voice...."goooossshhhh, okaaay!" Its so funny because he draws out the gosh and okay like he has really had it with us!

-I love that if he is talking to me and Im not paying attention he will say "mommy, look at me now."

-I love when he says things backwards, I never want to corrrect it because I think its kinda cute! Like for instance If I ever walk into the room and he is doing something he isnt supossed to and I scare him he jumps and says,"Mommy I scared you, geeezzzz!") aka mommy you scarred me geezzz:) Does he really even know what Jeeezzz means?

-I love that whenever I sneeze no matter where I am in the house I can always, and I mean ALWAYS hear Kooper yell, "bless you mommy." And then of course when ever he sneezes he will always say, "bless you Kooper."

You know as hard as it is to be new in this area, Im so glad for the undivided attention that Im able to give to my precious little guy! We have been having so much fun together and I love it! Yea, I would love a play date, someone to go to the park with or even to go to lunch with but those things will come..hopefully:) Thanks to the church when we moved to Pasadena I had/have such a great group of friends that were so willing to take Kooper and I under there wing, I miss them all like crazy! But I'm sure that will happen here too it just takes time!
All though Kooper isnt helping us out much....So the other day we had just got passes to the YMCA, its brand new and really nice, so we were really excited! They have a great swimming area for kids that has a big pirate ship, a fun slide, and its all only a foot deep( you get the picture) Anyway It opened at 10, so of course we were there at ten minutes too, with our suits on ready to go! There were about 10-15 other kids and Moms, so I was thinking oh this is perfect, I will for sure meet somebody here(am I sounding desperate yet ha ha) So abut 10:10 I look over and Kooper was just standing there looking down at his shorts and I was thinking what is he doing?? Next think I know he yells to me Mommy I pooped sure enough about 5 huge turds come floating out of his shorts!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Ok sure I should have put a swim diaper on him but he has not had one not ONE accident since he has been potty trained, only about a month but still! So anyway the lifeguard, says loudly, "everybody out, a little boy pooped in the pool, the pool is now closed! UGGHHH why me?? Why did it have to be my little boy, oh I know why because over the summer we went to a little pool like this and somebody had pooed in the pool and I was saying what the crap is it that hard to put a swim diaper on it was so annoying that we had went all that way just so they could shut the pool down.... So I hope this is a lesson to everybody, well one of 2 things either put a swim diaper on no matter if your child is 7 or just dont talk crap when other kids poo in the pool!:)

New Adventures

Well we finally made it! We have been here about a week but its taken that long to get Internet set up. We had a good trip here. Kooper, Pam(Grandma), and I drove the car, Weston drove the 347ft uhaul..ok maybe not that big but it seemed like it! And Kent(Grandpa) drove the truck pulling the snowmobile and trailer, yes it was quite a caravan! We stayed the first night in Grand Junction to brake up the 12 hour drive, and then made it the rest of the way the following day. Kooper was pretty good we only had to make about 2 emergency stops for potty brakes..which was really good I thought!
On day 2 Kooper was not feeling it so we tried to make a few extra stops to get his wiggles out...
We found a little park in Breckenridge that worked....slides, a steering wheel and a few rocks..what more could a boy ask for?
Pam and Kent helped us out so much with the move and getting settled, we really couldn't have done it without them! Thank You!! They were here with us for about 5 days, which was so helpful! We were able to get out a little bit, the town doesn't have a whole lot to offer especially compared to the LA area, I know it will be a huge adjustment! But on the bright side of things we can get our student loans paid off faster since there isn't much to do and then we can move on to where we want to settle down...where ever that might be.
Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to take a few pictures of our house...which I really like (except for some of the paint)! Thanks again for everybody that helped us move and helped with Kooper while packing! We have the best friends and family in the world! Love and miss you all!

Im totally bragging!

OK, so I don't do this very often but I feel like I really have bragging rights with this one.....
So about 4 months ago we bought Kooper a little potty but he wanted NOTHING to do with it, which was fine because I figured once he was ready he would let us know (that's what all my friends kept saying anyway). Well about 2 weeks ago Weston put Kooper in the bath and then went to the bathroom and said to Kooper"see you need to pee in the toilet like daddy and be a big boy" Kooper said,"ok" (aka whatever). About 5 min later he gets out of the bath and sits on his potty and goes! So we of course make a huge deal about it..potty dance and all, but just figured it was a fluke. The next morning he took off his jammys and his diaper..his dry diaper and went pee again all by him self!! Without us even saying a word! So we figured that day we would put undies on him and just see how it went, SUCCESS! He goes when he needs to, and we don't have to say a word! I feel a little ripped off because I was dreading it and so I was thinking of all these prizes I could use to bribe him, I had a cute sticker chart in mind you name it I thought of it.... But NOTHING he didn't need ANYTHING he was just ready! Ok I know its not like he is 12months old and I'm not claiming my child is a genius because he is 2 1/2, and I know it was time but I never thought in a million years that it would be so easy and he would do it all on his own, so yes he is my little genius:)

Trying to feel organized!

Well I havnt blogged for a while because I feel like our lives are sooo all over the place I really dont even know where to begin! We are living with Weston's parents for a few weeks before we start a new adventure in our lives in Colorado!! Weston got a good job offer there so I guess that's where we will be for the next couple of years. So right now we are just enjoying family and friends while we can and of course Wes is studying like crazy for his boards. We have had such a fun summer but it has gone by way to fast! So because Im SOOOO not motivated to blog a good friend of mine just told me to post some pict....So Lauren these are for you! :)

Kooper is getting so big..and way to fast! I love this age, well let me rephrase that, I kinda have a love/hate relationship with this whole 2 year old thing. He has definitely hit the so called "terrible twos" but at the same time says some of the cutest things I have ever heard! For example the other morning at 6:30am( WAAAYYY to early) he comes into our room and crawls in between Wes and I. After a few minutes he starts playing with his toes and says, " this little piggy went to eat, this little piggy went to granmama Aweenes,(aka Grandma Alene) this little piggy went to Granmama Pams, this little piggy went to pizza factory(a bad sign we eat there WAY to much) and this little piggy went we we we all da way home." Wes and I were both half asleep but aware enough to know what he was saying, we both started cracking up! Its a good thing that those little things are enough to weigh out the stubbornness that is sending us all over the edge!!

I came home from work the other day and walked out back to find this!! Grandma is trying to teach him to pee on a rock!!! WHAT THE CRAP??? She said this is how they taught them back in her day:) Thanks Pam!!
Grandmas little helper!

Weston and I at his Graduation! Congrats babe, we are so proud of you and all of your hard work!

Grandma Pam Loves the bounce houses too!

Kooper and his cousin Tayha. My Sister and I threw a 50th surprise party for our cute Mom. It was a blast we had about 60 people come and she had no idea! A special thanks to some of our BFF's the Andersens for letting us use the APEX building and your help with everything else! PS Sorry about Jeter's head!

Catch up post!

WOW! It been a long time! I do so good for about 2 weeks then I fall back off the wagon for months, but to be honest I had a hard time posting because every time I would get on I would read the last post from my sweet little hubby then get sidetracked! We have had so much going on lately, we went to Hawaii with my inlaws, which was a blast, I turned 30(YUCK) had lots of fun with family and friends during the forth...well thats about it, so all the pictures are below are from all those fun times! Our first bowling experience! Kooper loved it..and I cant get over those cute little shoes! Strike!!!
He loved all the candy! All the other little kids around kept giving him all the candy so in the end he had the fullest bag around!!
The fire engines were way to loud!
Kooper has 2 of the best Grandma"ma"s around! He adores both of them and they love to spoil him rotten!
They are both so willing to help with him while I work or even just need a little break! You guys are the best and Kooper is so lucky to have both of you in his life! He is going to feel so lost when we move because you both have been such a huge part of his life! Thank you!
My cute little hubby surprised me with a little birthday barbecue with a bunch a friends and family! We had a great time, Im so thankful for such good family and friends that love me no matter how old and wrinkly Im getting:)
And then there was Hawaii!! Thanks Kent and Pam, we had a blast, it wouldnt have been the same with out you guys!
